It is also called "South Peach and North Willow" with the New Year Picture of Taohuawu in Suzhou. Around the time of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty. Qingyong, Qian and early Guangxu were the peak periods.
The production method is "half printing and half painting", that is to say, first carve out the picture lines with woodcut, then print them on paper with ink, cover them with two or three monochrome plates, then fill them with color brushes, sketch, carve, brush, paint and mount them by hand.

New Year Painting
Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, is the longest and most important holiday for Chinese people. It is usually celebrated from the eighth day of the twelfth month to the fifteenth of the first month (lantern festival), by Chinese lunar calendar.
