从化学的高度上讲,盐是指在水溶液中能电离出金属阳离子或铵根阳离子和酸根阴离子的化合物。按盐类的组成上看,除了上面讲的阴、阳离子外如果还含氢离子则叫酸式盐,如果还含氢氧根离子则叫碱式盐。若按盐类的来源分有(1)强碱弱酸盐、(2)强酸弱碱盐、(3)强酸强碱盐、(4)弱酸弱碱盐等。要谈正盐的酸碱性,就必须谈盐类的水解问题,有一句经典话《谁强显谁性》则(1)呈碱性,例如碳酸钠(2)呈酸性,例如氯化铵(3)不水解,例如氯化钠呈中性,(4)因为它们水解生成一种弱酸和一种弱碱故要比较各自的电离平衡常数值的大小,而且是在相同的温度条件下查表,谁的常数值大就呈谁性。另外,酸式盐例如硫酸氢钠,因为它能电离出氢离子,则呈酸性,碱式盐例如碱式氯化镁,因为它能电离出氢氧根离子,则呈碱性。我们日常生活中用的盐是氯化钠(有某种病的人吃氯化钾)是咸的,但氯化铵不是咸的反而是涩的,它是一种治咳的药。氯化镁也是涩的,白毛女里的杨白劳就是吃很浓的氯化镁溶液死的。测试各种盐溶液的酸碱性要用广泛PH试纸或各种酸碱指示剂,再用比色卡看颜色来判断。
