2014年7月，《See You Again》制作人之一的查理·普斯在听到演员保罗·沃克去世的消息后，因为联想到自己有一位好友，跟保罗·沃克一样也是在车祸中丧生，所以他当时就想把这首歌曲写出来，为的是献给每一位曾心灵受创的人，让他们有所慰藉。
