I had two expirience of public speaking before I graduated college. The first one,it happened when I was 8 years old. I didn't realize I was picking my nose until everyone was laughting at me. then I was angry about the laughting, and get out of the stage. The second one, it was in the first year of my college, I was asked to introduce a book to my classed, I thaught it would be fluent and clearly. But it wasn't. My mind was totally blank, some of them shouted at me:Why don't you just show us the book? I cann't even remember how i get down from that stage, It was a disaster.

Then I decide to do my own thing, if I became a master in my field, why I have to care others? But you know, in this day and age ,even programer have to comunicate with other programers and product manager. So, life hit me hard and tell me it doesn't work!

Why? Why it doesn't wark? That time, I read a book: < influence-the psycology of persuasion >. Suddenlly, I realize I never had the conception of influence in my mind, In our education system, We just need to read one book after another, pass One examnation after another , we never need to influence others, but when we get into society, it's absolutly nassesary, so we have to catch up on this lesson. Maybe that's why the first time I saw sunshiners I think I found my family.

So why is influence important? It is no exaggeration to say that there is a competition of influence everywhere and everytime in this world. It is Just how this world works. Everyone in this world is trying to sell something. if you are wage owners , you have to sell your skills, you have to influence your boss. If you want to be a successful professional manager , you have to sell your purpose, you have to influence your employees. If you want to be a successful businessman ,you have to sell your product, you have to influence your customer. If you want to be a superstar , you have to sell yourself, you have to influence your fans. So if you have a better idea about business, you have to persuade others to follow you. if you have a great imagnation about future, you gotta persuade us to achieve it, you know what I am trying to talk about, it is about leadership , it is about the realization of our life value.

Someone might say, I just want to have a job and family, Why do I have to know about influence. Think about every button in your computer screen, Think about every advertisement you saw in the street, Think about salesman you can saw everywhere, everyone is trying to influence you. If you know nothing about it, You will be unconsciously influenced, buy something you don't need, like my gitar. One day you will be confused about where your time is going and where your money is going.

So we have to learn how to influence others and how we are influenced by others, then maybe we can live a better life. that is why we need to learn public speaking.
